October 2026: Enchanted OREO Blizzard
October 2026 is the first Halloween month in Dairy Queen history with its own themed menu. The Spellbound Series launched September 28 at participating stores in the United States and runs through November 1.
The Enchanted OREO Blizzard takes the regular OREO Blizzard and changes the base. OREO cookie pieces are blended with a sweet ube flavor and a purple shimmer into DQ soft serve. Ube is a purple yam from the Philippines. It tastes sweet and a little like vanilla with a nutty note. The purple color is the point. This is a Halloween treat that looks the part.
The Spellbound Series has two more items:

How much does the October Blizzard cost?
It costs the same as a regular Blizzard. DQ does not charge extra for the monthly flavor itself.

How many calories are in the Enchanted OREO Blizzard?
Dairy Queen has not put seasonal Blizzard calories on its official nutrition sheet. The regular OREO Blizzard Small is 600 calories, and the Enchanted version is close in build, but that is an estimate, not an official number. We do not print a fake exact figure for a seasonal flavor. If you count calories closely, use the regular OREO numbers as a guide and treat the ube base as similar.
Coming Next: November and December 2026
November 2026: Peanut Butter Blossom with mini HERSHEY’S KISSES
The November flavor is Peanut Butter Blossom with mini HERSHEY’S KISSES and Blondie Cookie pieces, blended into soft serve. Peanut butter blossoms are a classic holiday cookie: a soft peanut butter cookie with a chocolate kiss pressed in the middle. This Blizzard turns that cookie into a cup. If you like peanut butter and chocolate together, November is your month.
December 2026: Peppermint Bark Blizzard
December brings the Peppermint Bark Blizzard. It layers white and milk chocolate with peppermint candy cane pieces, blended into soft serve. Peppermint Bark has been a December favorite before, and its return fits the holiday season. It is the kind of flavor that tastes like Christmas in a cup.
One honest note: holiday lineups sometimes shift before launch, and not every store carries every flavor. Check with your local store in the first week of the month if you plan a special trip.
What Is the Blizzard of the Month?
The dairy queen blizzard of the month is a limited-time Blizzard flavor that changes every calendar month at participating DQ stores. Each month, DQ picks one flavor to feature. It may be brand new, like the Enchanted OREO. It may be a returning favorite, like Peppermint Bark. It may be a seasonal classic, like Pumpkin Pie in the fall.
Three rules explain almost everything about the program:
- One month only. When the month ends, the flavor usually ends too. Some flavors come back in later years, but there is no promise.
- Limited ingredients. Stores get enough mix-ins for about a month. When a store runs out, that flavor is gone at that store, even if the month is not over.
- Participating stores only. DQ stores have different owners. Not every store carries every monthly flavor. Texas stores, for example, run their own lineup through the Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council.
Why do flavors disappear even when fans love them?
A Quora thread about the retired Nerds Blizzard gives the real answer. A fan wrote: “A ton of our blizzards are seasonal and they only make enough ingredients (and supply that much) to last each store a month or few.” That is the whole system. DQ does not stop making a flavor because fans hate it. It stops because the supply was planned for one month. If you love a monthly flavor, go early in the month, not late.
The Full 2026 Archive, Month by Month
Dairy Queen does not keep an official public archive of past monthly flavors. Fans have hunted through the Wayback Machine and old forum posts to rebuild old lists. This table is our archive for 2026, built from DQ announcements and franchise listings. Bookmark this page. We update it each month.

The Fall Treat Collection, launched August 31, 2026, also included the returning Pumpkin Pie Blizzard, a fall staple since 1991, plus Caramel Apple Cheesecake, Brown Sugar Cookie Dough, and a Toasted Marshmallow Mocha Coffee Cooler.
Past favorites that keep coming back
Some monthly flavors refuse to die. They return again and again because fans ask for them:
- Mint OREO: March 2019, then back in March 2026. Seven years apart, same green mint idea.
- Peppermint Hot Cocoa: December 2019, then brought back later. A winter favorite.
- Pumpkin Pie: A fall staple since 1991. It returns almost every autumn.
- Red Velvet Cake: February 2026 was a comeback, not a first launch.
Fans even campaign for comebacks. One Reddit thread was titled “Everyone ask DQ to make this the March BLIZZARD of the month.” If a flavor you love vanished, you are not alone. Asking works sometimes. Mint OREO is proof.
What Fans Really Think About Monthly Flavors
Reddit and Quora threads show a clear pattern. Fans love the monthly program, but they complain about three things again and again.
The mint problem
Mint OREO threads from 2019 and 2026 sound the same. Fans write: “taste any mint? It just tastes like vanilla with Oreo pieces.” Another wrote: “It was soft and I couldn’t taste the mint.” A third noted: “Not the best green color but the taste is at least…” The complaint is steady: weak mint flavor, soft texture, and a pale green color that does not match the photo. If you order a mint monthly flavor, ask for extra mint topping. Fans who did that with large Mint OREOs liked the result more.
The price shock
Monthly flavors cost the same as regular Blizzards, but fans still report sticker shock. One Mint OREO thread opened with: “Sorry to not answer the question because I can’t but the cost just shocked me!” Another fan wrote about the cost of two large Mint OREOs with extra mint. The lesson is simple: a large with extra mix-ins costs a good deal more than a small. If price matters, order a mini or a small. Fans on Quora agree: “The mini size and small size are great when paired with a meal.”
The BOGO freezer trick
Dairy Queen runs Blizzard BOGO deals, often twice a year, and fans plan around them. One fan wrote: “I’ve been doing the bogo blizzards, at that cost rate they’re not too bad. I just stick them in the freezer.” That trick works, but with a limit. A Quora thread asked how long a Blizzard lasts, and the top answer was: “Usually about 15 minutes. If I’m hungry, maybe only 10. Probably no more than 30 min though.” So eat one now, freeze the second one fast, and stir it well after 30 minutes in the freezer if you want it firm again. Do not leave a Blizzard in a hot car while you shop.
The custom combo workaround
When a monthly flavor retires, fans rebuild it. An ex-worker on Quora wrote: “there is no secret menu. You can, however, technically order any candy combination in your blizzard.” That means you can ask for OREO pieces plus mint topping after Mint OREO month ends, as long as the store still has those mix-ins. It will not taste exactly the same, but it gets close. Our Secret Menu page covers the best combos.
How to Never Miss a Blizzard of the Month
- Check the app in the first week of the month. New flavors appear at the start of the month, and app deals appear with them.
- Go early in the month. Stores run out of monthly mix-ins late in the month. The first two weeks are safest.
- Call before a special trip. Not every store carries the monthly flavor. One call saves a wasted drive.
- Watch for BOGO weeks. BOGO deals are the cheapest way to try a monthly flavor and freeze a second one.
- Bookmark this page. We update the archive each month, so you can check what is current and what is gone.

No. Stores have different owners, and participation varies. Texas stores run their own lineup. Call your store first if you plan a special trip.
Does the Blizzard of the Month come in all sizes?
Yes. Mini, small, medium, and large, like regular Blizzards. The mini is a good pick if you want to taste a monthly flavor without a big price or a big calorie count.
Final Thoughts
The dairy queen blizzard of the month is the simplest way to keep Dairy Queen fun. Every month brings one new reason to go back. October 2026 gives you the Enchanted OREO, a purple ube twist on a classic, plus a bubbling drink, a hot sauce, and a plush keychain hunt. November brings peanut butter and chocolate. December brings peppermint.
The smart way to play it is simple. Go early in the month, before stores run out. Order a small if you just want to taste it. Freeze a second one during BOGO weeks. And when a flavor you love vanishes, remember that comebacks happen. Mint OREO waited seven years and came back. Your favorite might too.
Check this page at the start of each month. We will keep the archive updated, so you never have to hunt the Wayback Machine for a flavor list again.
