Dairy Queen Deals and Coupons (2026): Free Cone Day, App Offers and Ways to Save

The coupons and app offers that are live now, how DQ Rewards points work, and why a deal can fail, all in plain words.

$7 Meal Deal New Coupons Mondays Free Cone Day: March

Everybody wants to pay less for a Blizzard. The good news is that Dairy Queen deals are real, and new ones show up each week. The hard part is that most of them live in the DQ app, they change each Monday, and they do not work at every store. This page keeps them simple. You will see the deals that are live now, how the points system works, when Free Cone Day comes, and why an app deal can fail even when you did nothing wrong. We check this page each Monday, when the new app coupons land. Last checked: the week of October 20, 2026.

The short answer: the best deal at DQ right now is the $7 Meal Deal, good all day at most Grill & Chill stores. On top of that, the app gives signed-in members new coupons every Monday. Points from each order turn into free food. And once a year, in March, Free Cone Day gives everyone a free small cone.

Deals, in quick facts:

  • Every Monday: new app coupons land. One special coupon is good on Monday only.
  • One deal per order: you can not stack two deals on the same order.
  • 15 minutes: once you tap to use a deal in the app, it dies in 15 minutes. Tap it at the till, not at home.
  • 10 points per $1: what DQ Rewards members earn on each order.
  • $7.00: the Meal Deal price, all day, at stores that take part.
  • March: when Free Cone Day comes, on the first day of spring.

Dairy Queen Specials This Month (October 2026)

Dairy Queen specials for October 2026 are a mix of limited-time treats and everyday value deals. The Blizzard of the Month is the Enchanted OREO Blizzard. The fall lineup that arrived on August 31 is still on menu boards, since DQ has not announced an end date. On the value side, the $7 Meal Deal and the weekly app coupons save you the most money.

What is the difference between a DQ special and a DQ deal?

People use the two words for the same thing, but they work differently at the counter. A special is usually a new or returning menu item sold for a limited time, like a seasonal Blizzard, and it costs the normal price for its size. A deal cuts the price of something, like the $7 Meal Deal or an app coupon. The smartest order often stacks both ideas, such as using an app coupon on the Blizzard of the Month.

Specials change fast, so this section is checked every month. Next up is the holiday lineup: from November 2, DQ adds the new Peanut Butter Blossom and returning Peppermint Bark Blizzards. Our Dairy Queen holiday menu guide has the dates and deals. For the full monthly history, see our Blizzard of the Month archive.

The $7 Meal Deal, in short

The Meal Deal is the one deal that does not hide in the app. It costs $7.00, all day. You pick an Original Cheeseburger or a 3-piece Chicken Strip Basket. Some stores add a third pick, a crispy onion cheeseburger meal. You get fries, a 21 oz drink, and a small sundae. Fans love it because a full meal for $7 is rare in 2026. One warning, from fans: if you order in the app and change the drink to a bigger size, the deal can ring up at $8. Keep the drink as it comes, and the price stays $7. The full guide, with calories and swaps, is on our $7 Meal Deal page.

Free Cone Day: when it is, and how it works

Once a year, DQ gives away free cones. The day is called Free Cone Day, and it is held in March, on the first day of spring. Here is how it works:

  • You get one free small vanilla cone per person.
  • You do not need the app, a coupon, or a Rewards account. You just show up.
  • It is at stores that take part. Most stores do.
  • The lines can be long. The first warm day of the year brings everyone out.
  • Some stores let you add a dip or toppings for a small fee, and some collect money for charity that day.

Free Cone Day for 2026 has passed. The next one is expected in March 2027, on the first day of spring. DQ will confirm the exact date as it gets close. We will put the date at the top of this page the day it is announced, because “dairy queen free cone day” is one of the most searched deal terms of the year. Set a note in your phone for early March, and check back here.

DQ Rewards points: the slow, sure way to save

Coupons come and go. Points stay. DQ Rewards is free to join in the app, and you earn 10 points for every $1 you spend. Points turn into free food. A Dilly Bar or a small cone is about 200 points. A Mini Blizzard is about 300. A small Blizzard is about 400. A chicken basket is about 750. And at the top of the list sits the prize fans save for: an 8-inch cake, at about 2,500 points.

Fans take this seriously. In one talk, fans shared their point counts like scores. One fan said it plain: “I save my points all year for ice cream cake.” That is the best way to use the system. Do not spend points on the first small thing you see. Let them grow, and let DQ buy your birthday cake.

Two point tips that save real pain:

  • Forgot to scan? You can add your receipt in the app within 7 days, and the points land in about a day.
  • No barcode on the receipt? That means your store does not take part in Rewards. Points will not work there. It is not your fault, and the app can not fix it.

Why your app deal did not work

This is the most common deal problem at DQ, and fans post about it all the time. A deal is in the app. You order. The deal does not apply. Here are the true reasons, in the order they happen most:

  1. The exact item is not in your order. A “free large fries” deal needs large fries in the bag. A “free large fry” story from a fan ended with this answer from staff: you do not have a large fry in your bag. Size and item must match the deal word for word.
  2. You tapped the deal too soon. Once you tap to use a deal, it dies in 15 minutes. If you tap at home and drive to the store, it can be gone by the time you order. Tap it at the till.
  3. Your store does not take part. Each store is owned by a different person, and that person picks which offers to accept. A fan who never got the 50% off offer was told this exact thing: it depends on your store.
  4. You were not signed in. Deals are for signed-in members only. Guests can not see or use them.
  5. The deal had ended. Most coupons live for one week. Monday deals live for one day. Check the dates in the app before you plan a trip around a deal.
  6. You tried to use two. One deal or reward per order. Pick the one that saves more.

If you check these six things, nine out of ten deal problems go away.

Deals fans still talk about, and their true status

Deal pages on other sites list old deals as if they were live. We will not do that. Here is the true state of the famous ones:

  • The 85-cent Blizzard. For the Blizzard’s anniversary, DQ has sold Blizzards for 85 cents. Fans call it the best deal DQ ever ran, and every year they watch for it to come back. It is not live now. When DQ brings it back, it is for a short time, in the app, and we will say so here at the top.
  • The Double Flip. In August 2026, Rewards members could buy one Blizzard and get a second for 99 cents, once a day. It ended on August 30. It shows the kind of member event DQ runs a few times a year.
  • 2 for $5 Mix & Match. Some stores still run it. Most do not. A few deal sites list it as if it were live at every DQ. It is not. Check your store in the app.
  • $5 Buck Lunch. This one ended years ago. If a site lists it as a live deal, that site does not check its facts. Our menu with prices page shows what lunch really costs now.

The flip question: is the free Blizzard real

Fans ask this one a lot: if the staff forget to flip your Blizzard upside down, do you get it free? The honest answer is “yes and no.” The flip is a promise at stores that take part in the flip program. If staff at one of those stores forget, many of them give you a coupon, often for a free small Blizzard on your next visit. But it is not a rule at every DQ, and it is not a law. Some stores do not flip at all, like drive-thru orders in some places. So enjoy it if it happens. Do not demand it. The flip is a bit of fun that proves how thick the treat is. It is not a trick to win free food.

Habits that save money on every visit

  • Open the app before you order, not after. Deals only work if you follow their steps.
  • Make Monday your check day. New coupons land on Monday. Ten seconds in the app can save you dollars all week.
  • Pick up your food. Delivery apps charge more per item and add fees. Our prices page shows how much more a receipt can grow.
  • Pair a Mini with a meal. Fans who know value say the Mini and Small are the smart sizes with food. Save the Large for a treat-only trip.
  • Let points grow. Small redemptions feel good. A free cake feels better.

Our last words

Dairy Queen deals are not hard. They are just fast. Coupons die in a week, tapped deals die in 15 minutes, and the famous ones, like the 85-cent Blizzard and Free Cone Day, come once and go. The fans who save the most are not lucky. They just check the app on Monday, keep the $7 Meal Deal in mind, and let their points grow into a free cake. This Dairy Queen deals page will do its part too: we check it again every Monday, and the date at the top will always tell you how fresh it is.

This is an independent guide. This site is not part of Dairy Queen or ADQ. Dairy Queen, DQ, and Blizzard are trademarks of their owners. Deals change each week and change by store. Last checked: the week of October 20, 2026.
